User Interface Intro

The Hydden.Control user interface follows Hydden's navigation principles as established in Hydden.Discovery. This article covers the main UI components, navigation patterns, and common interface elements you'll encounter when using the product.

Application Layout

The Hydden.Control interface consists of three main areas:

AreaDescription
Left SidebarPrimary navigation menu with module links and user actions
Top BarPage title display (on pages without hero sections)
Main ContentPrimary workspace for viewing and interacting with data

Left Navigation Sidebar

The sidebar is fixed on the left side of the screen and provides access to all main modules in Hydden.Control. It features the Hydden logo at the top, main navigation items in the center, and user actions at the bottom.

The following navigation items appear in the sidebar, based on your assigned role:

ItemDescriptionAccess
DashboardsCustom dashboards for identity risk reporting and KPI visualizationAll roles
CampaignsAccess review campaign management and monitoringAll roles
ApplicationsApplication inventory with access detailsAll roles
ClassificationsAccount classification groups with aggregate risk metricsAll roles

Navigation Label

The AI Search navigation item appears when AI capabilities are enabled in your tenant settings. When AI is disabled, this item displays as Interact instead.

User Actions

At the bottom of the sidebar, you'll find:

  • Profile - View your user details including username, email, tenant, and assigned role
  • Logout - End your current session and return to the sign-in page

Active State Indicator

When you navigate to a page, the active item in the sidebar is highlighted with a gradient accent border on the left edge and a darker background, making it easy to identify your current location in the application.

Landing Page - Campaigns

The Campaigns page is the default landing page after signing into Hydden.Control. Depending on whether you have existing campaigns, you'll see one of two views:

Welcome View (No Campaigns)

For new users or tenants without campaigns, the landing page displays a welcome experience designed to help you create your first access review campaign. This view includes getting started options (Create from Scratch, Use a Template, AI-Assisted Setup) and an overview of campaign capabilities.

For detailed information about the welcome page, see Initial Login Experience.

Dashboard View (Existing Campaigns)

For tenants with active campaigns, the Campaigns page displays:

  • Page Hero - Campaign icon, title, summary statistics, and a button to create new campaigns
  • Status Filter Cards - Quick filters to view campaigns by status (All, Active, Pending, Completed, etc.)
  • Campaigns Table - A list of all campaigns with key details and actions

Page Hero Component

Several main pages in Hydden.Control (Campaigns, Applications, Policies, Identity) use a consistent hero section at the top of the page. The Page Hero includes:

ElementDescription
IconA large circular icon representing the page context
TitleThe page name displayed prominently
SubtitleDynamic context such as record counts or status summary
Action ButtonPrimary action for the page (e.g., "New Campaign", "Create Policy")
Stats LabelSection header for filter options (e.g., "Filter by Status")
Stat CardsClickable cards showing counts by status for filtering

Common UI Elements

Stat Cards

Stat Cards appear on pages with Page Hero sections and provide quick filtering capabilities. Each card displays:

  • Label - Category name (e.g., "Active", "Pending Review")
  • Value - Count of items in that category
  • Subtitle - Additional context (e.g., "Currently running")

Clicking a Stat Card filters the page content to show only items matching that status. The selected card shows a highlighted border and background.

Data Tables

Tables throughout Hydden.Control share consistent features:

  • Column Headers - Sortable columns with clear labels
  • Row Selection - Checkbox selection for bulk actions where applicable
  • Pagination - Navigate through large datasets
  • Search - Filter table contents by searching across columns
  • Column Visibility - Show or hide columns based on your preferences

Detail Drawers

When you click on a record in a table (account, owner, group, application, etc.), a Detail Drawer slides in from the right side of the screen. Drawers provide:

  • Header - Record type icon and title with a close button
  • Collapsible Sections - Organized groups of related information that can be expanded or collapsed:
    • Basic Information
    • Organization Details
    • Security & Risk
    • Group Membership
    • Linked Owners
    • Dates & Timeline
    • And more depending on the record type
  • Related Records - Clickable links to navigate to related entities (e.g., clicking an owner in an account drawer opens the owner drawer)

AI Assistant Button

A floating AI Assistant button appears in the bottom-right corner of most pages. This button:

  • Appearance - Circular button with a sparkles icon and a gradient purple background
  • Action - Opens the AI Chat window for natural language queries about your identity data
  • Availability - Hidden on the Identity/AI Search page (which has integrated AI capabilities)

Clicking the AI button opens a chat interface where you can ask questions about your accounts, groups, access patterns, and more.

Modal dialogs appear for actions requiring confirmation or additional input:

  • Confirmation Modals - Verify destructive actions like deleting data
  • Form Modals - Collect input for creating or editing records
  • Access Request Modal - Appears for users without assigned roles to request platform access

Status Badges

Throughout the interface, status badges indicate the state of records:

  • Success/Active - Green badges for healthy or active states
  • Warning - Amber badges for items requiring attention
  • Error - Red badges for critical issues or failed states
  • Info - Blue badges for informational states

Loading States

When data is being fetched or processed:

  • Spinner - Animated loading indicator
  • Skeleton - Placeholder shapes that match the expected content layout
